Welcome to Wensley Quarry
Wensley Quarry is a long-established limestone quarry in North Yorkshire, supplying essential limestone for the region’s roads, buildings and infrastructure. The quarry has been an important local employer and part of the area’s industrial landscape since the 1940s.
This website has been created to:
- Explain what we do at Wensley Quarry and why the site is important for North Yorkshire
- Provide clear information on how we manage environmental impacts such as dust, noise and blasting
- Set out our plans for the future of the quarry, including our proposed planning application
- Show how we will restore the site and create new habitats and landscapes over time
- Keep residents and stakeholders updated and make it easier to get in touch with us
Public Consultation Now Closed
Our public consultation, held between 26 January and 9 February 2026, on our proposals for the future of Wensley Quarry, has now come to an end. We would like to thank everyone who participated in our consultation. We appreciate your time and contributions throughout this period.
Your feedback is invaluable to us. Our team will now review all the feedback received ahead of submitting an application to North Yorkshire Council.
